NARS recently launched their Orgasm Collection for Spring 2023. There are 5 pieces to this collection:
- Orgasm Rising Eyeshadow Palette (C$64)
- Orgasm Four Play Blush Quad (C$60)
- The Multiple Sticks in shades Orgasm and Orgasm Rush (C$51 each)
I picked up the blush quad and both of the multiple sticks. The eyeshadow palette is pretty, but I decided to not get it because it just isn’t really speaking to me. Looking at swatches, it seems to be really similar to NARS’ other palettes.
Orgasm Four Play Blush Quad
This blush quad has that shimmery gel-baked formula that I find to be really similar to last year’s Orgasm on the Beach Face Palette. I really enjoy this blush formula from NARS. It goes on smooth and does not emphasize texture. Pigmentation is on the sheer side but it is buildable which I prefer over the regular powder formula. I find most shades of the powder blush formula to be really pigmented against my skin tone and so easy to over apply.
The 4 shades included in this quad are:
- Swinger – Golden shimmer
- Orgasm – Peachy pink with golden shimmer
- Orgasm X – Satin deep coral pink
- Orgasm Rush – Rosy bronze
I have everything swatched below. It looks really similar to NARS’ previous palettes and if you have any of those you can likely pass on this.
The Multiple Sticks
I think these are existing shades just in new limited edition packaging. I don’t own any of the Multiple Sticks so these are new to me. They are available in the shades Orgasm (peachy pink shimmer) and Orgasm Rush (rosy bronze).
These sticks have a cream-to-powder formula that is meant for use on the eyes, cheeks, and lips. I am always very sceptical over these multipurpose claims for makeup products, because they tend to work really well in one area but not others. Unfortunately, these Multiple sticks are no different. The formula for these sticks are really emollient. As eyeshadow, these creased in no time at all. On the lips they are ok, but it would not be my first choice for lip product. As blush, I quite enjoy them. The finish is sheer and gives off a really nice, natural glow. They have limited lasting power because of how emollient the formula is, but can be set with powder for more longevity.
I think this new collection is repetitive of NARS’ previous releases, and I think I would have skipped the entire collection altogether if I didn’t want to try the Multiple sticks (the pretty pink packaging is also quite hard to resist haha). I am happy to own them, but also don’t think these are must haves unless you are new to the brand and don’t own any of their previous collections.
The NARS Spring 2023 Orgasm Collection can be found at Sephora, Nordstrom, and on the NARS website. Did you pick any of these up? What do you think of this collection?
