Armani recently added blushes to their Luminous Silk collection and given how much I loved their Neo Nude Melting Color Balm released a few years back I had to get these.
I picked up 4 of the 5 shades released here in Canada:
- 10 Intimate – a peachy beige
- 40 Mania – a deep coral
- 50 Euphoric – a peachy pink, and the only shade in a shimmery formula
- 51 Amore – a dusty rose
The Armani Luminous Silk Glow Blush promises to provide a luminous flush of color that looks like your skin is lit from within with a subtle glow. The description also states that these are finely milled, buildable, blendable, pigment-packed, and long lasting.
I think the formula performs exactly as described. The blush blends beautifully, even giving a smoothing effect to the skin while providing the most natural glow. I can get away without using highlighter and my skin still didn’t look dull or flat. These blushes also last all day on me – a pleasant surprise given that blush tends to be the first thing to fade off over the course of the day for me.
These blushes pack quite a punch pigment-wise on my light skin tone. Please do not judge these blushes through the disappointing swatches because they apply nothing like how they swatch. They pick up very easily on the brush, so do take care to tap off your brush before application if you do not want to over-apply. There is also a fair amount of kickback because of how finely milled the powder is.
These blushes remind me very much of the recently released Gucci blushes (see my review here). They both give off a luminous matte finish with a natural glow and I find the formula quite similar. The Armani has the advantage when it comes to price, retailing for $54 here in Canada. The Gucci blush will set you back $67. For those sensitive to scent, the Armani has no scent that I can detect, while the Gucci has a floral scent. Personally, I prefer the Gucci blushes. I find the Armani a little too easy to over-apply whereas the Gucci blushes are more effortless. I am also in love with the gorgeous Gucci packaging.
Overall, I adore these blushes. Blushes are my obsession right now, and I am really happy I got them. My favorite shade of the bunch is No. 51 Amore. The Armani Luminous Silk Glow Blush is available at Sephora and the Armani website.
